Kendrick's Untitled Unmastered - What Kanye Should Be Doing.

Kendrick just dropped an album. Yes, that Kendrick and yes, an entire album. On "Untitled Unmastered,” Kendrick says everything that Kanye has been attempting to tweet about for the last few weeks. It goes down oh so much smoother this way, too. 

The album starts like you are being lured into a dark funhouse. With broken mirrors surrounding you like an inescapable reflection of yourself, your community, your reality. It's alluring and there’s no turning back. All tracks are untitled too so we took the liberty of naming them because who wouldn't?

Track 1: It's Happening. 

Hauntingly irresistible, the first track feels like there is an undercurrent of slow but steady power that is finally turning the corner. It's like every important movement of the last century, from civil rights to the black panthers to black lives matter might finally see the fruits of their labor. 

track 2: Where Did It Go Wrong? 

The lyric “get God on the phone” sums it all up. Like the current state of affairs, this jazz track is frenetic, disorienting, but welcome.  Kendrick's storytelling ability is on full display with his talent to distill the experiences of an entire community into a five minute piece. 

Track 3: Fill in the Blank.

A history lesson as told by Kendrick, which means two things: when it comes to success never forget and give zero fucks. 

Track 4: The Whisper Song. 
In this song Kendrick whispers as a tactic to make the listener stop everything and tune in. At this point in the album the lines have blurred and you feel hazy. Kendrick’s first two albums are clearly biographical, but this album seems more about transforming; morphing into different characters that represent real experiences with the weight of the world.

Track 5: The World to Me.
This is when you realize the guest spots on this album are dope. The woman’s voice on this track is hypnotizing. Does anyone know who she is? This song is reminiscent of the conflicted Kendrick of To Pimp A Butterfly. 

Track 6 : I Can’t Explain It. 
Bossa nova beat with a Cee-Lo Green drive-by. The love song of the album that makes you crave summer.

Track 7: Levitate.

Swizz Beatz’ kid produced it. What are you doing with your life? We also really hope this is true.

Track 8: Why So Sad?

This song leaves me unresolved in a good way. It is most definitely to be continued, Kendrick.
